Are you accepting new clients?I am so excited that you asked! At The Hair Alchemist, I am always welcoming new guests looking for blonding, grey blending, and dimensional colour services.

How can I call you?As a one-woman show, I am not able to take care of new or existing guests by phone to the standard at which I set for your salon experience at The Hair Alchemist. During business hours, I'm behind the chair, and I wouldn’t want to call and disturb you during outside of standard business hours. In order to better serve you, you have the ability to book all of your own appointments online 24/7 whether you are a new or existing guest. Beyond that, I’ve tried my best to cover the most common inquiries here in the FAQ. If you don’t see your question answered here, don't hesitate to email me anytime.

How do I purchase product if your hours are by appointment only?Purchasing product will always be easiest and most convenient for you at your scheduled appointment! You are welcome to stop in during my listed business hours, however, that is a bit of a risk; since I am a by appointment only service provider, there is a chance I might not be in. If you'd like to pick up products outside of a scheduled appointment, shoot me an email and we can arrange a pick up day and time for you.

Why do I have to fill out a Digital Consultation Form?My number one priority is you having hair that you absolutely love. In order to do that, there is a whole lot I need to know about your hair history, hair goals, lifestyle, and everything in between. By you filling in a Digital Consultation Form, I get to make sure that you are booked for the correct service and for the correct length of time. It also ensures that when we consult in person, we focus on the things that really matter to you so we can make the most out of the time you've committed to a salon visit.

Why haven’t I gotten an email back or received my Welcome Package yet?I try my best to get back to all emails within 24 business hours Monday to Friday. If it's been longer than that, definitely check your spam folder because my emails do often end up there. If you check there and still no reply, please don't hesitate to reach out again as technology can be quite fickle. Regarding your Welcome Package, the link is shared with you automatically after you've completed the Digital Consultation. In the event that something goes wrong, or you misplace it, you can access the Welcome Package here.

GOING BLONDE OR BLENDING GREY
PARTIAL MODERN BLONDING
A partial custom blonding placement typically includes the front hairline and top layer of hair, but can be customized. The result is noticeable, yet preserves your natural base.

CHOOSE THIS IF: You're looking for either blonde enhancement of your natural colour or grey blending, OR you're looking to do moderate maintenance on your existing blonde look.

MAINTENANCE: Recommended once every 3 - 6 months depending on long term colour goals.

FULL MODERN BLONDING
A full custom blonding placement from front hairline to back neckline creates a significantly impactful overall blonde result. If this is your first appointment in a journey towards blonde, some natural colour will remain through the ends.

CHOOSE THIS IF: You are looking to achieve or maintain either an overall blonde look (either to the root, or with a low maintenance natural root) or all over grey blending, OR are already significantly blonde and are working towards solid blonde ends.

MAINTENANCE: Typically recommended every 6 - 12 months, then
maintained with a Partial or Mini Modern Blonding between visits. Some results may recommend a Full Modern Blonding every 3 - 6 months.

TRANSFORMATIONAL MODERN BLONDING
The boldest, most impactful blonding option, typically with solid blonde ends. This package has been designed to achieve extreme change in one session.

CHOOSE THIS IF: You have not begun the process of going blonde, and want to be as blonde as possible, as quickly as possible, OR your hair requires a colour correction.

MAINTENANCE: This is a one-time service to handle extreme change
and colour corrections. Maintenance recommendations vary dependingon your desired long term result. Typically it would mean a combination of Partial and Mini Modern Blonding appointments anywhere from 2 - 6 months, with a Full Modern Blonding session every 6 - 12 months.

CHOOSE THIS IF: You're looking cover your grey, and would like the result to include subtle blonde enhancement for a barely there, sun-kissed look, OR you're looking to cover your greys and do light maintenance around the face and part on your existing look.

CONSULTATION
Whether you'd like to talk in person before booking services, want an investment quote before committing, or have a complicated corrective situation, a standalone Consultation is a great idea. Any services booked after a Consultation appointment benefit from Loyal Client Pricing.

NOTE: Complimentary Pre-Booking Consultations are also available. They can answer basic questions and offer booking recommendations if you're feeling uncertain. In-person Consultation may still be recommended after submitting the Pre-Booking Consultation form in certain circumstances.

Designed to smoothen, but not straighten hair, this treatment eliminates frizz and fly-aways, and makes the hair resistant to the fuzz and "expansion" caused by humidity. It can be used allover the head, or localized to trouble areas such as the nape or hairline.

HOW TO BOOK: This service requires an in-person Consultation prior to being booked.
​​
MAINTENANCE: For year round frizz control, treatment is recommended every 4 -5 months. For seasonal control, booking in late spring is recommended.

KERATIN SMOOTHING
HAIR EXTENSIONS
Whether you're looking to fill in a small trouble area, or make a major change to your length, density, or both, hair extensions are a great solution. Both temporary and installed extension options are available.

HOW TO BOOK: Book a Consultation to get started. If you are also interested in colour, book that first, and we can discuss extensions at that appointment.

MAINTENANCE:
Halo Extensions: You can expect a lifespan of 9 - 12 months with proper care when wearing daily, but this can be longer if use is reserved primarily for nights out and special occasions. No salon maintenance required, but occasional salon Toning may be recommended.
​
Tape-In Extensions: Salon maintenance is required every 6 - 10 weeks depending on hair growth and hair type. With proper care, hair can be re-used multiple times. Hair typically needs to be replaced every 6 - 8 months.
